About Us

Serving Oyster Bay since 2009, we offer in-person and online art classes in traditional techniques for adults and teen portfolio development. Artists of all levels of experience and ability are welcome.

For13 years we have been taking beginners and turning them into great artists and helping those with more experience find their true artistic voice. Artists make rapid improvements in our classes because of the excellence of our faculty and a commitment to the foundations of academic drawing and painting. From entry level to more advanced, we don’t simply offer classes, but also an entire program to help foster creativity. We take a step-by-step approach to the fundamentals of drawing and painting in the classical tradition, and we place a premium in cultivating artistic creativity and originality.

Our studio in Oyster Bay features an in-person program of foundational, intermediate and advanced techniques, tailored to the needs of individual students. Limited availability. Individual or group lessons. In addition to these foundation classes, we also offer a unique program for artists who are serious about learning their craft and in finding their artistic voice. The Figurative Core™ Program provides a framework to make creative art. The philosophy behind the program is while you are studying technique you should also be developing creativity as something equally as important to learn and master. The program is taught by Teaching Studios Founder and Director Rob Zeller, from a curriculum based on his best selling book, The Figurative Artist's Handbook (Monacelli Press).
