Believing that immortality is in the memories, The Life Enrichment Center of Oyster Bay has published a one-of-a-kind anthology. Silver Threads documents experiences and offers readers 2,000 years of wisdom from 38 authors. Written stories of travel, war, joy, and hope are entwined and illustrated by members of art classes at the Center. This anthology is the first of its kind published in the area, written wholly by members at the Center, providing a window into the lives of the Senior population in the Oyster Bay and surrounding communities.
On Sunday, June 30th a panel of writers and artists will be presenting and answering questions. They will talk about the process, what they learned, and how this project has impacted them. Through this project they wanted to ensure that the flame of inspiration is continued through generations to come.
Silver Threads is inspirational, calling upon interns from high school and college who worked to bring the book from the hearts of seniors to an appreciative readership. This project has offered advice from a wise generation to the future.
