Join us for an exclusive after-hours experience celebrating diversity and the LGBTQ+ community at Planting Fields! This evening event will feature music from renowned musician Jill Sobule, the dynamic all-female rock group, Antigone Rising, an exciting panel discussion, and an opportunity to explore the rich history of Planting Fields! Activities start at 5pm with self-guided tours of the Historic Tea House and Coe Hall, featuring the newly expanded exhibition Decisive Moments at Planting Fields: The Photography of Mattie Edwards Hewitt and Frances Benjamin Johnston. Hewitt and Johnston, who photographed Planting Fields in the 1920s, were pioneering women–thought to be queer–that dominated and ultimately defined the fields of landscape and architecture photography. At 6pm a panel discussion on the role and impact of places like Planting Fields for the LGBTQ+ community will take place. Following the discussion, a celebratory concert will take place beginning with renowned musician Jill Sobule at 6:30pm and the dynamic all-female rock group, Antigone Rising at 7:30pm! Bring your chair or blanket, sit back, and enjoy an evening of exceptional music and community celebration against the stunning backdrop of Planting Fields. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable experience!
